My Birthday!

Since my birthday fell on a Saturday and I didn't have to work on that Monday because it was a national holiday (Respect for the Aged Day), I decided to go to Kyoto or Osaka to hit up some clubs and bars and just have a good time. The problem with it being a national holiday weekend, however, made it a little more difficult to find lodging. I wouldn't have minded staying out all night, but Arica and I also wanted to go to Universal Studios Japan the following day so we definitely needed to get some rest. Since I wasn't able to find any lodging, I ended up celebrating my birthday in Hikone. First, Arica, Ellie, John, Doug, and I went to Piccolo Bosco for dinner. It's an Italian restaurant and they had really good food! After dinner, we headed over to Jabba the Hut. This was a swanky little bar with a Star Wars theme. The drinks were expensive, but I didn't care because it was my birthday and I was able to get an amaretto sour (which I haven't been able to get anywhere else in Japan since I have been here). After a few drinks, we went to a karaoke bar to sing (well at lest try to) and to drink more of course. :) At around 1 AM, I was feeling a little tired, buzzed, and happy and knew I had to get home so I could get up in time to meet Arica and catch the early train to USJ. I definitely had a fun night!

Yes, they even have Star Wars in Japan. Check out the memorabilia in the background.

Here's Hans Solo coming out of the wall.

Here's Arica and I drinking our $10.00 amaretto sours. I had two and some other drinks. :)

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...
